Dear Friends and Family,
Our call to serve the Lord and the people of South Africa as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints has become a benchmark event of our lives. On March 31, 2011 we received a letter from the missionary department of the Church calling us to serve as Leader Support Missionaries for a period of 18 months in Cape Town, South Africa signed by our beloved Prophet, Thomas S. Monson.
When we first read those words it didn't seem real or even possible to leave everything behind...home, business and family (especially the grandchildren) to go to such a far-reaching corner of the world on the Lords errand. Now that we are just weeks away from our departure and we have spent months sorting and organizing our lives we feel an ever growing excitement. The Lord has opened so many doors which has made it possible to leave our lives here in San Diego and share our message with the people of South Africa.
